Ann Curry

Ann Curry has worked as journalist for more than more than 45 years. Her focus is on natural disasters, as well as war zones. Curry has covered the conflict zones of Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter who was best known for her role as a reporter on the Today program, which was a morning news show that was telecast through the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry gained notoriety for her reporting of catastrophes caused by natural causes and humanitarian crises that took place in war-ravaged regions. Curry was born in Japan, and educated by a Japanese mom. Her father was a U.S. Navy sailor. She met her mother while living with their father during Japan in the aftermath of World War II. Because of her father's military service, the family moved several times. Curry was a high school graduate at Ashland Oregon. She graduated in 1978 from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. As a child she had the privilege of being exposed to various kinds of cultures. Four years later, she relocated into Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. She received two Emmy Awards during the six years with the station.
